The only way I have been remotely consistent on here is in just how utterly inconsistant I have been. And I would almost venture to apologize but wont for 2 reasons 1) no one is reading this and 2) no one cares, with the exception of myself. With that said, I will carry on.
I recently began reading a book called The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, and let me tell you, in no uncertain terms, it has seriously changed my life. And not in an Oprah Book Club kind of way... But in a practical "oh I can totally do that" and "woah, that is definitely me" kind of way. It takes the reader through a year in Gretchen's life in which she decides to make choices that will lend towards increasing her Happiness. She doesn't pull an Elizabeth Gilbert and run away from all her problems to "find herself", she simply adapts and alters her way of life towards a happier and healthier one. Much more realistic approach. She researches what the ancient and modern experts have to say on the topic, and combines all that with her personal experiences.
She has 12 over-all goals and breaks them down to accomplish by month, and with in those broad monthly goals are small things that fall under them. So here I go on my own Happiness Project. I am still working on my goals and trying to figure out what things I can improve upon in my own life to increase my Happiness, but as soon as I do, you can bet I will post them on here. I know its all a little "Julie and Julia" but mine involves no famous people I am trying to impress or impersonate, no lofty stress inducing tasks to overcome(well depending on what I make my goals, I suppose there might be a couple)... And I didn't start out to blog it, I just knew I hadn't updated in a while and thought I would use this as a nice place to keep track of it all.
